Ceramics; A Brief Description
The act of firing clay in the production of ceramics has been practised for thousands of years, and has resulted in the manufacture of an infinite variety of objects. Not only are these objects both practical and beautiful, they have also proven invaluable to our understanding of many ancient cultures and traditions. Experiments in the production process allowed for the creation of many types of ceramic, and these are often generalised into three main categories; earthenware, stoneware and porcelain.
